Scale Operator (Dallas, TX)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Admin/Scales: A Gate Attendant/Scale Operator is responsible for accurately and efficiently monitoring and recording inbound and outbound volumes entering the post collection site. Communicate through provided radio with plant personnel as needed. Work with Admin to ensure data is accurate. Communicate with drivers as need. Maintain clean work area. Able to work overtime and weekends as needed. Perform any other duties that is assigned or requested by the Shift Supervisor or other plant leadership to perform.

Assist on the administrative side with some purchasing for the plant, communicating with the corporate office, and general clerical tasks for management that are located at the plant

Principal Responsibilities:

• Determine content of material entering facility to properly bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste load based on content; suggest alternatives based on special waste, type of waste and/or local market training.
• Provide receipt to customers.
• Balance the daily receipts to ensure accurate recordkeeping and appropriate billing, deposit daily receipts.
• Document the material entering the facility, utilizing truck scales and computer systems; track total amount of material entering the facility.
• Answer the telephone and provide general information to callers.
• Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.
• Perform work orders in accordance with company standards, while complying with all applicable health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations.
• Perform work orders in accordance with company standards, while complying with all applicable laws and regulations of other fields.
• Assist in the staging of work orders and other items related to the completion of jobs.
• Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.

Job Description

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a scale house setting is preferred.
• Experience computers and various software programs.
• Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
• Ability to read and write simple math patterns.
• Ability to work independently or in conjunction with other employees.
• Ability to make split shifts if required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
