Junior Database Administrator

Position Introduction / Key Duties Cimarron is seeking a Junior Database Administrator to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either the Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area or the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. Key Duties Install, configure, operate, and maintain database systems across the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) enterprise network. Research and apply best practices for database design and administration. Support the creation and maintenance of standard database policies, operating procedures, and documentation. Monitor database performance, perform fine-tuning, and optimize database systems. Support the development and implementation of database backup and disaster recovery strategies. Conduct audits to assess database capacity and availability. Participate in IT and business projects to define database requirements and recommend technology solutions. Research, benchmark, document, and introduce new database technologies and features into the application lifecycle. Collaborate with application developers, business owners, and architects on database design and implementation. Required Skills, Experience, and Education Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time. This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state‑issued identification card at the time of hire. Active Secret Clearance. 1 or more years of related experience with MS SQL Server 2019 or higher. Current or ability to obtain DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or higher). Desired Skills, Experience, and Education Experience with MS SQL Server cluster, MS SQL Server database performance tuning, MS SQL Server database monitoring. Experience with MS SQL Server database backup/recovery. Knowledge and experience, with relational DBMS concepts, design, architecture, and operations.
