JM Keehn, Inc. is a boutique business management and tax firm in Encino serving entertainment industry clients: actors, performers, and their companies. We're a close-knit team preparing tax returns for individual, corporate, partnership, and nonprofit clients. We're looking for a capable, independent tax preparer who wants a stable year-round position and the chance to grow into more complex work.

• Prepare individual returns (1040), including high-net-worth clients with K-1s, rentals, and multi-state filings
• Assist with and grow into business and nonprofit returns (1120, 1120-S, 1065, 990)
• Communicate directly with clients by phone and email to request documents, answer questions, and follow up
• Prepare estimates and extensions and help respond to IRS and state notices

What we're looking for:

• At least 2 years (two or more full tax seasons) of hands-on tax preparation experience
• A self-starter: we're a small department without a formal training program, so you need to be resourceful, research your own questions, and manage your workload with limited supervision
• Confident, professional communicator who is comfortable picking up the phone with clients
• Strong on individual returns; business return experience a plus
• CCH Axcess or other professional tax software experience (Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries, Drake); TaxDome experience helpful
• Organized, detail-oriented, and discreet with confidential client information

Compensation and benefits:
$33-$35 per hour, with paid overtime during busy season
Health insurance with 80% of the employee premium paid by the firm

Full-time, year-round, on-site in our Encino office on Ventura Blvd, convenient for Valley residents. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
