Customer Service Associate

Location: 3093 118 Hills Plz, Charleston, WV 25387, USA Description Big Lots is seeking motivated individuals to support our store operations and provide essential products at great values to the communities we serve. Responsibilities Greet customers and assist them with merchandise selection. Complete transactions and answer questions regarding the store and merchandise. Unload trucks, process freight, recover merchandise, and stock shelves. Maintain a clean, well‑stocked store to enhance the shopping experience. Accurately handle customer funds and process transactions using the POS system. Remain constantly aware of customer activity to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment. Perform all other duties as assigned to maintain an effective and profitable store operation. Qualifications Education: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent. Experience: Prefer experience working in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environments. Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs from floor level to above shoulder height and meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, and repetitive lifting. Availability: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Skills and Competencies: Customer focus, developing potential, results driven, strong organizational skills, communication skills, problem solving/decision making, job knowledge, and relationship management. Working Conditions Retail store environment where extended periods of standing are required. Retail store stockroom environment subject to fluctuations in temperature. Frequent lifting and maneuvering of merchandise and displays. Exposure to dust and extreme temperatures while unloading trailers. Scheduled work hours may vary and include evenings and weekends.
