Residential Electrician Duties Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on residential electrical systems. Inspect wiring, panels, devices, and grounding to identify hazards and code violations. Assemble, install, test, and maintain wiring, fixtures, and electrical components using standard tools and methods. Plan and interpret layouts for wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specs and local electrical codes. Replace outdated or unsafe wiring systems and upgrade circuits to meet modern electrical demands.
