South Carolina State University (SCSU) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our Department of Public Safety in Orangeburg, SC. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in upholding the university's commitment to providing a secure and supportive atmosphere for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. As a Law Enforcement Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, regulations, and university policies while maintaining a visible presence on campus to deter criminal activity and ensure the safety of the community. Key responsibilities include : Patrolling campus grounds, buildings, and facilities to detect and prevent potential threats or disturbances. Responding promptly to calls for service, emergencies, and incidents, assessing situations, and taking appropriate action. Conducting thorough investigations, gathering evidence, and preparing detailed reports. Collaborating with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services when necessary. Providing exceptional customer service and fostering positive relationships with the campus community. To excel in this role, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid South Carolina Driver's License is required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous law enforcement experience or relevant training. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to professionalism are essential.
