Job TitleThis position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-9. At the GS-7 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-9. Promotion is at the discretion of the supervisor and is contingent upon satisfactory performance, availability of higher-level work, and availability of funds.*THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesServes as the Training Coordinator within Business Operations Service (BOS), which is the largest administrative department within the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC).Determines training requirements to design and instruct course requirements using specific guidance on topics covered, methodology, approaches, and sources used to provide the needed educational requirements.Courses taught at this level may cover a wide variety of topics in well-established areas of a subject matter field, which includes training healthcare providers and schedulers.Courses generally involve instructional problems that require organization, illustration, and interpretation of course material in order to reach and motivate students who may pose typical deficiencies of communication and motivation, e.g., diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest in the course.Maintains the facility wide master list for scheduling ensuring all schedulers are compliant with scheduling requirements.Plans and coordinates scheduler training, for each new employee who has access to scheduling patient appointments.Identifies and determines training priorities, conducts and administers training programs, develops and improves training guidance, and conducts classes or other group setting instruction.Assists employees in achieving mandatory schedule training; upon request, creates specialized training agendas and/or orientation plans.Performs audits and analyses, preparing and presenting findings and recommendations to the HAS Supervisory Team, Section Chiefs and the Executive Leadership Team.Performs other duties assigned.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pmRecruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not authorizedTelework: This position may be authorized for Ad-Hoc telework.
