Use preventive and predictive maintenance measures to ensure the reliability of all physical assets. Decrease downtime and increase the run time of all machinery. Build, install, set up, and start up new capital improvements.Requires proficiency and understanding of the essential work instructions and operating and quality control procedures that govern:Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machinery using overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, hand tools, and power tools to repair or replace defective parts. Reassemble machinery and test for proper mechanical and safety operations before returning machinery to production for normal use.Operate lathes, mills, and drill presses to machine new parts for equipment repairs. Use measuring devices, such as rules, calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to machine parts to proper tolerances.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance measures, such as vibration analysis, laser alignment, infrared thermography, and oil analysis. Perform scheduled routine maintenance tasks, such as greasing bearings, checking fluid levels, and changing oil and filters to increase machinery reliability.Installation, setup, and startup of capital improvements.Fabrication and welding of new equipment, piping, catwalks, stairways, handrails, and ladders. Make weld repairs and modifications to existing equipment and structures.Perform visual, mechanical, and safety inspections of all machinery and equipment. Document all inspections on PM inspection forms.Maintain parts inventory by keeping parts room organized and submitting material request order forms for needed supplies and parts.Maintain good housekeeping standards in the maintenance shop to provide a clean, orderly and safe work environment.Performs other duties as assigned.Other dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Work environment:Exposure to inclement weather, dust, dirt, heat, cold, dampness, noise, smoke fumes, graphite, grease, oils, cleaners, adhesives, sealants, solvents, refractory dust, ceramic fibers, flammable liquids, and gases.Cranes, forklifts, man-lifts, lathes, mills, drill presses, hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, welders, ironworkers, saws, grinders, air hoist, thread cutting machines, pipe and tubing benders, port-a-powers, come-a-longs, and hose assembly machine.Stored energy, confined spaces, flammable liquids, flammable gases, heights, slips and falls, sparks, cuts, pinch points, heat, inhalation of atmospheric contaminants, and exposure to chemicals.Physical demands:Must have the ability to withstand prolong periods of standing, bending, pulling, walking, and lifting to a maximum of 50 lbs.Must be able to climb on and around machinery.Must be able to work at elevated heights.Wear protective equipment including coveralls or long sleeves, gloves, hardhat, hearing protection, metatarsal steel-toed boots, welding hood, respirator, fall protection equipment, goggles, atmospheric tester, and safety glasses with side shieldsRequired education and experience:High school education or equivalent5-7 years of millwright experience with working knowledge of basic shop practices, preventive/ predictive maintenance background, general plant maintenance, power transmission, hydraulics and pneumatics, pumps and compressors, mobile equipment, rigging and hoisting, fabrication, and welding or have completed a four-year 8000hr apprenticeship program.Must be multi-task oriented with the ability to run various equipment, including cutting torches, welders, lathes, mills, drill presses, ironworkers, thread cutting machines, pipe bending equipment, saws, port-a-powers, air hoist, cranes, forklifts, and man lifts. Must have a working knowledge of hand and power tools. Must know how to use preventative/predictive maintenance tools. Must be well versed in the operations of all plant machinery.Must be well organized. Must be able to concentrate on the tasks at hand.Must be able to work under the extreme pressure of getting machinery up and running to meet customer demands.Must be able to understand and work by established maintenance policies and procedures that could threaten life and health, such as lockout/ tag out, confined space entry, fall protection, and respiratory protection.Must have a high safety awareness.Must provide your own hand tools and toolbox. #J-18808-Ljbffr
