Sr. R&D Engineer, Peripheral Vascular

Senior R&D Engineer supporting the development of next-generation peripheral vascular technologies at Stryker's Irvine location. The role involves concept generation, prototyping, design verification, and cross-functional collaboration to advance catheter-based medical devices from feasibility through early-stage development.
Responsibilities
- Support conception, prototyping, and early-stage development of peripheral vascular technologies
- Design, develop, and verify catheter-based device components and subsystems with minimal supervision
- Translate clinical needs and user requirements into engineering specifications and subsystem designs
- Prototype and validate design solutions for technical feasibility, performance, and clinical safety
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, and Clinical teams
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
- Experience with catheter-based medical device development and design
- Proficiency in mechanical engineering practices and GD&T design principles
- Proficiency with CAD tools, preferably Solidworks
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and electromechanical systems
Compensation: $89,400 - $148,900 USD annual
