Staff R&D Engineer supporting catheter-based medical device development within the Peripheral Vascular Division. This technical leadership role focuses on translating clinical needs into innovative electromechanical vascular technologies through concept development, prototyping, and feasibility validation.

Responsibilities

Lead concept-stage R&D projects on catheter-based electromechanical systems and next-generation vascular technologies
Identify clinical needs and convert physician and customer insights into innovative technical solutions
Design, develop, and verify catheter components and subsystems with minimal supervision
Conduct prototyping, testing, and rapid iteration to validate feasibility and clinical value
Mentor engineering teams, drive best practices, and influence technical strategy across the Concept Team

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering or related discipline
Minimum four years of catheter-based medical device development experience
Demonstrated expertise designing and developing mechanical or electromechanical assemblies in regulated environments
Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools, preferably SolidWorks, and GD&T
Experience translating clinical insights and user needs into engineering requirements and specifications
Knowledge of medical device design controls, risk management, and quality systems
Track record leading technical projects, prototyping initiatives, or cross-functional engineering efforts

Compensation: $102,700 - $171,100 USD Annual
