Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and the monthly close process. This role will have hands-on responsibility for month-end close, cash and bank reconciliations, invoicing, journal entries, and general ledger accounting. Key Responsibilities Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Perform daily and monthly cash and bank reconciliations, research discrepancies, and ensure transactions are accurately recorded. Prepare and process customer invoices, ensuring billing is accurate, complete, and timely. Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with cash application and collections as needed. Prepare and post recurring and adjusting journal entries. Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts and resolve reconciling items. Maintain schedules for accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other accounts. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting. Research account variances and investigate discrepancies. Maintain organized supporting documentation and accounting records. Assist with external audit requests and preparation of supporting schedules. Work closely with other departments to resolve billing, payment, and accounting-related questions. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 1–2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting environment. Hands-on experience with month-end close and account reconciliations. Experience with cash/bank reconciliations and invoicing strongly preferred. Understanding of general ledger accounting and U.S. GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and PivotTables. Experience with an ERP or accounting system such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, SAP, or Oracle is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet monthly deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
