Shop Dispatcher High-Volume Automotive Dealership

C.Harper is looking for an experienced, highly organized Shop Dispatcher to manage the daily workflow of our high-volume service department. Our Shop Dispatcher is the traffic controller and central hub of the Service Department. Your attitude and communication can set the tone for the entire shop, so we're looking for someone who brings positive energy, professionalism, and a willingness to help the entire team succeed. This person must balance technician training and fair earning opportunities with customer needs, shop production, customer satisfaction, and dealership profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispatch work to technicians based on training level, certifications, skill set, efficiency, and workload.
• Distribute work fairly and consistently, ensuring every technician has an equal opportunity to produce hours and earn money.
• Keep gross profit and productivity in mind when dispatchingthe right technician must be assigned to the right job.
• Monitor shop flow and keep technicians supplied with productive work.
• Adjust priorities on the fly to accommodate same-day appointments, tow-ins, waiters, and unexpected repairs.
• Complete pre-writes for Service Advisors, reviewing vehicle history, maintenance needs, and previously declined work to identify legitimate sales opportunities. The goal is to drive shop hours and keep technicians productive.
• Coordinate transportation of new vehicles, open and final close repair orders for all Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs), and ensure PDIs are completed in a timely manner.
• Handle warranty documentation corrections directly with technicians, ensuring repair documentation is complete and compliant.
• Work closely with Service Advisors, technicians, Parts, Warranty, Sales, and management to keep vehicles and repair orders moving.
• Monitor stalled repairs and follow through to ensure assigned work is completednot simply dispatched.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude, even when the shop is busy and priorities are changing quickly.

What We're Looking For

• Automotive dealership experience strongly preferred.
• Dispatching, Service Advisor, technician, warranty, or shop management experience is a plus.
• Positive attitude and team-first mentality are essential.
• Strong understanding of technician efficiency, productivity, labor gross profit, and shop hours.
• Strong sense of fairness, integrity, and accountability.
• Understanding of warranty documentation requirements.
• CDK DMS experience preferred.
• Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to remain calm, positive, and solution-focused in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule & Compensation

MondayFriday | 7:30 AM5:00 PM | No Weekends

This position offers a base salary plus a monthly commission check tied directly to the performance of the Service Department.

Monthly commission is based on:

• Total shop hours turned
• Manufacturer customer satisfaction scores
• Overall gross profit percentage
