Director, Decision Infrastructure

Director, Decision Infrastructure Responsible for leading the Decision Systems team that designs, builds, and maintains the decision infrastructure and related data interfaces. This role reports to the VP of Risk Infrastructure and partners with Credit Risk, Modeling, Business, Engineering, Product, Marketing, and other teams to support strategic business objectives through automated decisioning technology. What You’ll Do Spearhead the development and execution of Strategic Transformation programs for the Risk Infrastructure function, partnering with cross‑functional teams. Work with Team Managers to flawlessly deliver BAU policies and models on the Decision Infrastructure for the Personal Loan Portfolio. Develop in‑depth expertise across LendingClub’s suite of products, technologies, and processes. Build rapport and close partnership with Credit Risk and Business teams to effectively manage demand and run the Risk Infrastructure function. Collaborate with Engineering subject‑matter experts to define technology strategy, roadmap, and future‑state architecture, leading the scalability of decisioning solutions. Apply AI responsibly to build next‑gen lending platforms, optimize and automate existing processes, and accelerate transformation in the decisioning domain. Provide timely reports to leadership on project progress, issues, risks, and escalations; generate Decision Systems presentations for management updates. Lead and support the team by mentoring members in their professional and technical development; keep management informed on performance metrics, challenges, and opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations. Oversee the offshore contract team, recruiting key roles, and amplifying operational efficiencies. Lead internal and external regulatory audits and drive audit findings to completion. About You 10+ years of proven leadership in managing teams with complex technology programs in fast‑paced fintech or financial services environments, including 6+ years in people management. 10+ years of track record in rules engine technologies such as GDS Link, Provenir, Drools, Alloy, Blaze, Oscilar, or equivalent. Strong hands‑on technical foundation with expertise in building APIs, microservices, cloud‑architectural patterns, and technology strategy. Exceptional cross‑functional collaboration skills to drive alignment and achieve organizational goals. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience navigating ambiguous, evolving environments that require constant problem‑solving in complex technical areas, delivering optimal outcomes aligned with business goals. Executive presence with a strategic mindset, able to think big‑picture while staying laser‑focused on tactical execution and operational efficiency. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or related field; or equivalent work experience. Work Location San Francisco. In‑person attendance is essential; remote placement is not considered. The role utilizes a hybrid work model with teams in‑office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Time Zone Requirements Primarily Pacific Time. Candidate should be flexible to work across time zones when necessary. Travel Requirements As needed travel to LendingClub offices and/or other locations. Compensation Target base salary: $210,000–$245,000.
