About This Role

Future Leaders of Excellence is looking for a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our classroom team. This position works closely with the Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young children can learn, grow, and build confidence.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, is a strong team player, follows direction well, and is committed to providing quality early childhood care and education.

What You'll Do

• Support the Lead Teacher with daily lessons, activities, and classroom routines.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance to children throughout the day.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment.
• Encourage children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Assist with meals, transitions, arrival, dismissal, play, and daily care routines.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety.
• Support classroom observations, documentation, and other assigned tasks.
• Communicate professionally with children, families, teachers, and administration.
• Follow FLOE policies, procedures, and applicable Tennessee child care licensing requirements.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience working with young children preferred.
• CDA, TCC, Associate degree, or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
• Relevant child care experience may be considered in place of formal education when permitted by licensing requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
• Must successfully complete required background checks, fingerprinting, reference verification, and health screening.
• Strong communication, teamwork, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to actively participate in a preschool classroom, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds when necessary.
