Role Description The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in Manassas, VA. This role is responsible for producing accurate technical and architectural drawings to support residential, commercial, and government construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include developing and revising CAD models and drawings, preparing construction documents and details, and coordinating with project managers, architects, engineers, and field teams to ensure plans are consistent with project specifications and code requirements. The CAD Drafter will interpret sketches, calculations, and design concepts into clear, buildable documentation, maintain drawing standards and file organization, and assist with design-build coordination across multiple projects. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to prioritize workloads in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for building and construction applications. Candidates should possess skills in Technical Drawing and Engineering Drawings to translate design concepts into precise construction documents. Candidates should possess skills in Architectural Drawings and Drawing to develop floor plans, elevations, sections, and site layouts. Relevant experience with residential, commercial, or government construction projects, including design-build environments, is beneficial. Familiarity with building codes, standards, and permitting processes in Virginia and the broader DC-Maryland-Virginia region is advantageous. Proficiency in common CAD and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software), along with strong organizational and documentation skills, is desired. An associate degree or technical certificate in drafting, CAD, architecture, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
