Hotel HousepersonHyatt Place Mount Pleasant Towne Centre is a 92-room hotel located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, just minutes from historic Charleston, area beaches, and some of the region’s top shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations.We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Hotel Houseperson to join our Housekeeping team. This position plays an important role in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel’s public areas while supporting our Room Attendants and responding to guest requests.Whether maintaining a welcoming lobby, preparing meeting spaces, or helping the Housekeeping team keep rooms moving efficiently, our Housepersons help ensure every guest enjoys a clean and comfortable hotel.The Hotel Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the hotel’s common areas while providing operational support to the Housekeeping department.The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, physically active, and committed to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for guests and teammates.Essential FunctionsWelcome guests with a warm, friendly, and professional attitude.Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests.Deliver requested supplies and amenities to guestrooms when assigned.Assist guests with directions and general hotel information.Report guest concerns to the appropriate department or manager.Clean and maintain public areas throughout the hotel, including the lobby, hallways, stairwells, elevators, offices, public restrooms, fitness center, meeting spaces, restaurant areas, and other shared spaces.Sweep and mop hard-surface floors.Vacuum carpets, rugs, and upholstered surfaces.Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.Clean glass, doors, windows, and other high-touch areas.Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste.Monitor public areas throughout the shift and address cleanliness concerns promptly.Help maintain a clean, healthy, safe, and welcoming hotel environment.Assist Room Attendants with stripping guestrooms and removing used linens and towels.Collect and remove trash from guestrooms and Housekeeping work areas.Deliver linens, cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and other materials to Room Attendants.Maintain and organize Housekeeping closets, storage areas, and supply stations.Restock cleaning carts and supplies as needed.Assist with moving furniture, rollaway beds, cribs, and other hotel equipment when assigned.Support the Housekeeping team during high-occupancy periods and other busy operational times.Follow all company health, safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.Properly use, label, store, and secure cleaning chemicals and equipment.Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, safety hazards, and technical issues promptly.Place appropriate warning signs around wet floors and other potential hazards.Use all required personal protective equipment.Ensure equipment is clean, functional, and properly stored after use.Work closely with Room Attendants, Guest Services, Maintenance, and Management to provide a seamless guest experience.Complete assigned cleaning projects and daily task lists.Communicate supply and inventory needs to Housekeeping leadership.Attend required meetings and training sessions.Support hotel operations and special events when needed.Follow Hyatt brand standards and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.Ability to work independently and complete assigned responsibilities efficiently.Ability to communicate professionally with guests and teammates.Dependable and punctual, with reliable attendance.Ability to multitask in a fast-paced hotel environment.Ability to work weekends and holidays based on business needs.Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check.Preferred Qualifications:Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or hotel experience.Experience using commercial cleaning equipment and products.Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.Hyatt or hotel experience preferred.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to bend, kneel, reach, climb, push, pull, and carry supplies throughout the shift.Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.Ability to push and maneuver Housekeeping carts, trash containers, furniture, and equipment.Ability to use stairs and work throughout all areas of the hotel.Ability to work safely with approved cleaning
