Responsibilities
- Assess patients across various age groups, employing standardized tests and observational methods to gather insights.
- Create individualized treatment plans that target specific communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals for both the short and long term.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
- Work collaboratively with a team of professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to ensure integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to foster progress outside of therapy visits.
- Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, maintaining seamless care throughout the entire treatment process.
- Keep thorough and timely documentation compliant with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Pursue professional development by staying updated with the latest advancements in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers.
Educational Background
- A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates not yet holding ASHA certification.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
