About The Role This position serves as the operational lead for day-to-day accounting functions at a privately-owned manufacturer. As the Senior Accountant, you will oversee the full accounting cycle, manage the month-end closing process, and lead financial reporting for operations across headquarters and manufacturing facilities. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role combines core general ledger leadership with hands‑on cost accounting, job costing, and inventory control. As the Senior Accountant, you will oversee the full accounting cycle, manage the month-end closing process, and lead financial reporting for operations across headquarters and manufacturing facilities. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role combines core general ledger leadership with hands‑on cost accounting, job costing, and inventory control. You will partner closely with accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintain internal control frameworks, and support an ongoing NetSuite ERP implementation. Key Responsibilities Full-Cycle Accounting Leadership: Oversee day-to-day general ledger operations, fixed assets, cash management, banking transactions, and expense allocations. Financial Close & Reporting: Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, preparing journal entries, accruals, tax distributions, and GAAP-compliant financial statements. Cost Accounting & Inventory: Review standard costing, analyze material, labor, and overhead variances, perform job-cost allocations, and evaluate gross margin profitability. Account Reconciliations & Asset Management: Reconcile key bank statements, balance sheet accounts, and subledgers, while maintaining capital asset, lease, and depreciation schedules. Tax & Compliance: Prepare and file local and state sales, excise, and personal property tax returns, ensuring timely payment of all corporate liabilities. Systems & Process Improvement: Support the NetSuite ERP implementation, refine transactional coding, strengthen internal controls, and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA is a plus but not required. 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing, distribution, or job-costing environments. Solid understanding of GAAP, full-cycle accounting, inventory costing, and project-based accounting principles. High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience managing large datasets. Hands‑on experience with enterprise software and accounting systems; exposure to QuickBooks or NetSuite is strongly preferred.
