Our client is a global leader in the flavor and fragrance industry, is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented 1st Shift Material Handler to support warehouse and manufacturing operations at its Teterboro, NJ facility. This position is responsible for the safe movement of raw materials and finished goods, inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving, and timely material replenishment to production. The ideal candidate has warehouse or manufacturing experience, is safety-focused, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments of raw materials, packaging, and finished products.
• Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips, reporting any discrepancies or damaged materials.
• Transport raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
• Stage and replenish materials for production lines to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
• Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
• Perform inventory transactions using warehouse management or ERP systems.
• Conduct cycle counts and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Label, organize, and properly store materials in designated warehouse locations following FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks while ensuring products are handled safely and securely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and GMP-compliant warehouse environment.
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and food safety/GMP procedures.
• Support other warehouse and production activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years of warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred.
• Previous experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Forklift certification is preferred or the ability to become certified.
• Basic computer skills with experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a food, flavor, fragrance, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, and FIFO inventory practices.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and warehouse safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to work safely in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
• Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
