The Spot Cafe LLC in Saint Augustine, FL is looking for a talented and experienced Working Kitchen Manager/Chef to lead our kitchen operations! This is a hands-on role perfect for a passionate culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced café environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding food quality. If you love being in the kitchen as much as you love leading a team, we want to hear from you! Responsibilities:
- Actively work the line while overseeing daily kitchen operations and food production
- Plan, prepare, and execute menu items consistently to high quality standards
- Manage and mentor kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and performance
- Monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage food cost controls
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations
- Collaborate with ownership on menu development, specials, and seasonal offerings
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workspace
- Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef, or Sous Chef in a café or restaurant setting
- Strong culinary skills with the ability to work all kitchen stations
- Experience with inventory management, food costing, and ordering
- Solid knowledge of food safety standards and ServSafe certification (preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing kitchen staff
- Ability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
