School Occupational Therapist / School OT

Job Description We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Per‑Diem School Occupational Therapist to join our client’s team in Westchester County, NY. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents and other professionals to provide occupational therapy services that support students’ educational goals. This role involves evaluating students, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, and contributing to the overall success of the students within the school setting. 2024‑2025 School Year. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of students to identify their occupational therapy needs. Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on students’ specific needs and goals. Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups, on a per-diem basis. Collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the students’ educational programs. Monitor and document students’ progress, adjusting intervention plans as necessary. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of students’ IEPs. Provide training and support to school staff and parents on strategies to support students’ occupational therapy needs. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports. Stay current with best practices, research, and developments in the field of occupational therapy. Qualifications Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current New York State license or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist. Experience working with children in a school setting (preferred). Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices and principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.i> Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping students succeed.
