Relocation Assistance Available* Histotechnologist Position This is a full-time evening shift working 11:00am to 7:30pm. The candidate will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by turning tissue samples into microscope slides based on the Pathologist's needs and orders. This Histotechnologist needs to have strong fine motor skills and be incredibly detail-oriented. The candidate must have comprehensive knowledge within a Histology lab and at least 1-2 years of experience working in either a research or Histology lab. Medical Technology experience is also required. Other duties include specimen collection, tissue processing, staining, microscopy, quality control, and data management. Responsibilities Perform all technical aspects of Histology, including embedding, microtomy, routine and special stains. Maintain all equipment - tissue processors, microtomes, cryostats, automated stainers and cover slips. File slides and blocks. Knowledge of LIS functions for accessioning and reporting. Handle all specimens knowledgeably by consulting with the Pathologist. Qualifications License note: This candidate must be licensed or be able to obtain a license as a Histotechnologist in the State of Florida before hire.
