Project Engineer (Heavy Civil / Water Focus)
Title: Project Engineer
Location: Northern California (Sacramento region & project-based travel)
Compensation: $80,000 – $120,000
About the Opportunity: Our client is a leading heavy civil contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects across California, with a growing focus on water and wastewater construction. They are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support field operations and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support project execution from preconstruction through closeout
- Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation
- Assist with cost tracking, budgeting, and scheduling
- Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and owners
- Ensure compliance with contract documents and specifications
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a Project Engineer in construction
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related
- Interest in heavy civil projects (water/wastewater preferred)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
