Accounts Payable SpecialistAccounts Payable Specialist | Kansas City, MO Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire| $24-28ph. LHH is partnering with a well-established construction organization seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support daily accounting operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, vendor payments, subcontractor documentation, and project-related expenses. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have prior experience supporting accounting functions within the construction, engineering, or contractor services industries.Key Responsibilities:Process high-volume vendor and subcontractor invoices accurately and efficientlyPerform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentationMaintain vendor records and ensure accurate payment informationPrepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfersReconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice discrepanciesAssist with month-end close activities, including AP reconciliations and accrualsReview invoices for proper coding, approvals, and sales/use tax complianceWork closely with project managers and field personnel to obtain approvals and support documentationMonitor lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and subcontractor compliance documentationMaintain organized accounting records and support audit requestsQualifications:2+ years of Accounts Payable experiencePrior experience in construction, engineering, contracting, manufacturing, or a project-based environment preferredUnderstanding of job costing, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoicing is highly desirableProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systemsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication and customer service skillsHigh school diploma required; associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business preferredPay Details: $24.00 to $28.00 per hourEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Military connected talent encouraged to apply
