Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Pediatrics

Position Overview

A well‑established healthcare facility in Alamogordo, NM is seeking an experienced Locum Tenens Pediatrician (MD/DO) to provide high‑quality outpatient and/or inpatient pediatric care. This assignment offers competitive compensation, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to serve a welcoming community located near the stunning landscapes of southern New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pediatric care for newborns, children, and adolescents.
• Perform routine well‑child visits, sick visits, developmental screenings, and immunizations.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions.
• Conduct inpatient rounds, admissions, and newborn nursery care (if required by facility).
• Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and care coordinators to ensure continuity of care.
• Communicate effectively with families, offering education and guidance on child health and development.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to facility protocols and regulatory standards.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-5p), 1 week per month
• No call required
• Daily Volume: 20-25 patients
• Support Staff: 5 MAs
• EMR: Epic
• Must be board-certified
• Paid travel & expenses

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics
• Active New Mexico medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Current DEA registration
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and family‑centered care skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy pediatric environment
