Average Daily Volume: 10 outpatient; 5-8 inpatient
Rounding: Yes, rounding included

FACILITY INFORMATION

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

First assist in surgery
Vein harvesting (Maquet system)
Chest tube removal
Pacing wire removal
Suture/staple removal and wound care
Pre-operative physical exams
Ordering diagnostic tests
Writing prescriptions

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: Board Certification
Licenses: Active IN license
Certifications: ACLS
NPDB self-query report required
Experience: Experienced NP/PA with Cardiothoracic surgery background; no new graduates

Maquet vein harvesting experience

Other Qualifications: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination

Duties & Responsibilities

First assist in Cardiothoracic surgeries, including vein harvesting
Round on inpatients, assess health status, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and write prescriptions
Perform pre-operative physical exams and post-operative care (chest tube removal, pacing wire removal, wound care)
Collaborate with attending surgeons and multidisciplinary team on treatment plans
Respond to emergencies, perform CPR, and follow ACLS protocols; maintain thorough documentation
