This role drives operational execution, employee engagement, and continuous improvement within the production area.What You Can Expect in This Role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:Leadership & People ManagementLead, coach, and develop 2nd shift production employees to ensure high performance and engagementConduct performance feedback, training, and corrective actions as neededSchedule staffing and manage attendance, timekeeping, and daily assignmentsPartner with HR on employee relations, hiring, and onboardingFoster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team environmentDaily Operations ExecutionSupervise day-to-day 2nd shift production operations to meet safety, quality, and delivery targetsCoordinate production workflow and ensure adherence to schedulesMonitor output, labor utilization, and efficiencyEnsure proper use of materials, equipment, and resourcesParticipate in production meetings and communicate updates across departmentsSafety & ComplianceEnforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentConduct safety observations and support incident investigationsPromote a culture of safety and accountabilityQuality & Continuous ImprovementEnsure adherence to quality standards and standard operating proceduresIdentify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actionsDrive lean manufacturing practices and waste reduction initiativesMonitor KPIs and production metrics (scrap, efficiency, downtime, etc.)Maintain accurate production, safety, and performance recordsCross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with engineering, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teamsSupport problem-solving efforts related to production issues or constraintsEnsure alignment between production plans and customer delivery requirementsWhat We Are Looking For (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required: 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production operationsDemonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred: Experience with ERP or manufacturing systemsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principlesExperience in HVAC or engineered products manufacturingAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred)Key CompetenciesLeadership & team development, operational execution, safety leadership, continuous improvement mindset, communication & collaboration, results-driven decision makingWorking EnvironmentManufacturing plant environment (noise, temperature variation, PPE required).
