2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Job Summary EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician in Bethesda, MD (2:00pm – 10:30pm Tuesday thru Saturday). The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR 2nd shift Lead and support them to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Primary responsibilities of this position is to be responsible for the general maintenance needs at the facility and performing general maintenance of equipment as required. Knowledge of and capable of performing maintenance/repairs and various general tasks assigned. Qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in facilities maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess a professional appearance, excellent customer service and communication skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Communicate effectively with the Site Lead to determine service needs; coordinate and supervise client sub‑contractors while performing service on site. Repair walls, floors, doors and any painting and touch‑up work for beautification of facility. Repair and unclog toilets, urinals, replace and maintain valve assemblies and repair/maintain sensors for automatic flush kits, as well as all other plumbing related to the facility. Maintain a strict PM schedule. Maintain A/C and heating equipment, change filters and clean coils as needed. Ensure building temperature conditions are within specifications. Perform a wide variety of corrective maintenance work requests, conduct daily rounds and inspection of specified areas and equipment. Assist other skilled employees to perform projects as requested. Monitor the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and building temperature conditions are in range. Promptly communicate operational concerns with leadership until resolved. Qualifications Education: HS Diploma. Experience: 3 – 5 years of experience related to facility maintenance. Licensure: Valid US driver’s license. Technical Skills: Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks; ability to write routine reports; basic computer skills; excellent customer service and communication skills; repair walls, floors, doors and beautification work; maintain ceilings, floors, doors, walls, plumbing systems, minor electrical, lighting, parking garages, mechanical rooms, hot water systems, building exterior/grounds; maintain A/C and heating equipment; perform plumbing repairs; maintain air handling equipment such as vent fans and circulation fans; maintain a strict PM schedule; monitor building automation system; respond promptly to alarm conditions. Organization skills to maintain client facility maintenance records and reports. Physical Demands The ability to lift 50lbs, climb ladders and walk the facility throughout the day; regularly kneel; move in a 90‑degree fashion; work on various terrains; interact with all clients professionally; work under stressful conditions. Work Environment Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; extreme heat; electrical shock and vibration; loud noises; confined and hot areas; snow removal during winter; willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.
