Caf Worker

The Caf Worker is responsible for providing efficient and sustainable assistance with cleanliness and preparation of trays, kitchen and caf to benefit the students, families, and teachers of Providence Creek Academy Charter School. Qualities needed to thrive in this role include the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and key school stakeholders across the school; a working knowledge of the school climate, facilities, staff, systems, policies and operations of PCA; a desire to aid all personnel and families in successfully enhancing the culture, educational capacity, and operations of PCA through the work of the kitchen; and maintaining relationships with vendors, families, and staff.

Major responsibilities include completing food preparation following applicable state and federal laws, receiving and organizing deliveries to the caf, serving students breakfast and lunch, interacting with students as they drop off their trays, adequately and efficiently rinsing and sanitizing all trays and kitchen equipment, and assisting in cleaning and preparing caf for each incoming grade.

Essential qualifications and skills include a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to stand up to six hours, lift 50 pounds, communicate accurately and effectively with various levels of staff, students, and families, understand and implement protocols, procedures, and policies, knife skills, and being a team player.

This position will require approximately 29 hours a week from 8:30-2:30 p.m. for 10 months and follows the students' school calendar. A criminal background check is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate during the interview process an understanding of diversity, educational equity, and multicultural education.
