VAPAHCS operates nearly 900 beds, including three nursing homes and a 100-bed homeless domiciliary serving more than 85,000 enrolled veterans.Location: 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto CA 94304Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Admission/dischargeTreatment and professional direction of inpatient carePsychiatric consultationsRoundsAttending treatment team meetingsMental Health Services include:Acute Inpatient Mental Health unit - 40 bedsConsults to Acute Medicine/Surgery inpatient unitsPsychiatric Assessment in the emergency departmentRequirements:Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicineLicensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia (or be Board Certified/Eligible) to practice medicine or surgeryBLS CertifiedThe general assignment will be 5 days a week at the VAPAHCS Acute Inpatient Mental Health Units. The normal work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm (with a 1?2 hour non-paid lunch).
