Applications are invited for appointment as Part-time Research Assistant I/II in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 537716) to commence as soon as possible for 5 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

The Role

The appointee will assist a team of public health educators in completing all major components of a common core course within the five-month project period. Duties will include coordination and administration, project implementation and delivery, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, manuscript writing, report writing, assessment of students, course evaluation, result dissemination and other related and administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop experience in teaching in higher education and conducting educational research.

Qualifications and Qualities

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Health, Global Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline;
• A good command of written and spoken English;
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills;
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a teaching team;
• Experience or training in quantitative data analysis using R, SPSS or equivalent software;
• Familiarity with qualitative research methods, thematic analysis, and use of NVivo software;
• Good attention to detail in documentation, report writing and record keeping;
• Experience in teaching assistance, educational research, manuscript preparation, or using AI creatively for teaching enhancement would be advantageous; and
• Fresh graduates with strong potential may also be considered.
