Summary Attorney / Senior Attorney (Commercial Law) | Palo Verde Are you an attorney who wants to do more than review contracts, someone who wants to be embedded in the business, influence decisions, and build strong partnerships across an organization?We're seeking an Attorney (Commercial Law) to support operations at the Palo Verde Generating Station , where legal is not a back-office function, you are a strategic partner in how the business operates and grows. What your day would be like: Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing practical, solutions-oriented guidance on commercial matters. Lead the drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements , including vendor, procurement, and operational contracts. Partner closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and influence outcomes early in the process. Identify and assess risk while offering balanced, business-forward solutions. Minimum Requirements Attorney (Commercial Law) | Palo Verde Degree from accredited law school; member of State Bar of Arizona PLUS (3-5) years previous related legal experience. Senior Attorney (Commercial Law) | Palo Verde Degree from an accredited law school; Licensed state bar member in good standing May be required to become a member of the State Bar of Arizona; PLUS five (5) years of experience with significant exposure to corporate clients and the types of legal issues regularly faced by large public companies. Major Accountabilities 1) Perform a variety of legal services, which are moderately complex in connection with every phase of the Company's operations, while under the direction of a more experienced attorney. 2) Counsel senior management and/or assist more experienced attorneys in the development of strategy regarding negotiations, disputes, claims, litigation/administrative proceedings, etc., by recommending specific courses of action based on extensive research, investigation, analysis, and experience. 3) Occasionally provide preliminary instruction, monitor performance of assignments, review soundness of approach/arguments and application of legal principles of outside counsel retained by the company. 4) Maintain positive working relationship with internal and external customers.
