Revenue Accountant

Role Description

As a Revenue Accountant, you will blend skill proficiency with strong judgment to support and advance Whisker Labs’ financial operations. This role requires a unique combination of skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage internal relationships effectively.

Key responsibilities and qualifications are listed below for this remote, full-time position that may require occasional travel as needed for training and team meetings. This role will report to the Controller.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting, strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly with revenue recognition and Accounting Standard ASC 606.
• Minimum of a 4-year College degree and/or related certification in Accounting preferred.
• Maniacal attention to detail and unrelenting focus on accuracy in all duties and processes required.
• Expert-level Excel skills are required.
• Experience with software implementations/migrations and revenue related systems and tools a strong plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex accounting information in a clear and understandable manner.
• A strong team player with the flexibility to adapt to rotating schedules and the demands of a startup environment.

Requirements

• Manage the revenue recognition process and all related tasks, from contract review to customer billing to revenue deferrals and recognition as part of the monthly close process.
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• Learn the current Excel-based revenue recognition process, assist with the transition to a SaaS-based process, and lead the new process.
• Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations as part of the accounting close process.
• Assist with the sales tax process, including collaboration with the Operations team on raw data review, reconciliation, and preparation for processing through tax software.
• Prepare revenue reports, metrics, analyses, and other ad-hoc duties within the Finance team as needed.
• Liaise between other members of the Finance group and key members of the operations team to ensure seamless operations.
• Support team efforts to continuously improve and gain operational efficiencies by creating and maintaining documentation for internal training, workflow processes, and communication/troubleshooting.

The pay range for this role is: 90,000 - 110,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
