Associate Accounting Coordinator - Customer Service Support

As an Associate Accounting Coordinator you will evaluate, analyze and record non-trade and employee activity to ensure proper financial reporting of income, expense and accrual information. Coordinate with internal and external customers to provide financial and account analysis for research and planning purposes.

• Analyze and record non trade transactions in SAP.
• Coordinate with corporate and field personnel to ensure proper recording/classification of transactions in the financial statements.
• Process approved cost items for timely payment. Monitor status of open items and optimizes prompt payment discounts.
• Establish and maintain regular communication with vendors.
• Reconcile vendor statements to Valero’s financial statements.
• Assist or prepare accrual information for monthly accounting cycle.
• Research and reconcile assigned non-trade GL accounts.
• Assist with the day-to-day accounting activities, which may include analyzing a variety of transactions, compiling data and providing a resolution to management and/or other internal/external customers.
• Participate in various projects to improve overall department efficiency and effectiveness.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

• Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
• High School Diploma or GED.

*Preferred Requirements: *

• Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Accounting preferred.
• 1 year of Accounting experience preferred.
• Refinery or related experience preferred.
