Banner Casa Grande Medical Center is a full-service, non-profit hospital located midway between Phoenix and Tucson, AZ. The facility offers comprehensive acute-care services, including emergency and trauma care, women’s health, maternity, surgical care, orthopedics, laboratory and imaging services, dialysis, rehabilitation, and more. In the role of Registered Nurse within the ICU, you will provide compassionate, quality care to a variety of medical, surgical, and cardiac patients, including respiratory failure, COPD, heart failure, liver failure, renal failure, sepsis, general surgery, MI, arrhythmias, and post- STEMI patients. The unit includes 22 beds and is supported by 24-hour tele-health and an Intensivist. Opportunities include 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00PM-7:30AM) and day shifts (7:00AM-7:30PM) with weekend rotations and a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential. Core Functions Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family, ensures completion within appropriate timeframe, and reviews diagnostics and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient‑specific needs, establishing realistic, measurable goals in collaboration with patient/family. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, complying with policies, procedures, standards of care and regulatory agency requirements. Evaluates the patient’s and family’s response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed and assessing patient progress toward goals in collaboration with other health care team members. Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy, reflecting objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient response. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility leadership and supports the education and orientation of facility personnel. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes, participating in professional organizations and quality improvement initiatives. In some roles, may supervise staff and manage workflow of the department. Interacts with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and external contacts regarding patient care, clarifying information and providing spiritual support when appropriate. Minimum Qualifications Must possess a current, valid RN license in the state of practice, or a temporary/interim RN license, or a compact RN licensure for the current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on the area of practice. Experience in the clinical area being applied for is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work, demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute-care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute-care hospital setting, including recent work as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area within the past 12 months. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute-care setting. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
