Schedule: Primarily daytime hours with occasional evenings as needed. Every other weekend availability is required.

High Point Residence Peoria is seeking a dependable, experienced, and compassionate Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that meet residents' dietary needs while creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience.

Working alongside our dietary team, you will help ensure meals are prepared according to approved menus, recipes, and food safety standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen. • Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and therapeutic dietary requirements.

• Ensure meals are served with consistency, quality, and proper portion control.

• Assist with food preparation for daily meals, special events, and holiday celebrations.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.

• Properly store, label, and rotate food to ensure freshness and regulatory compliance.

• Monitor kitchen inventory and assist with ordering food and supplies.

• Follow all infection control, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.

• Work collaboratively with dietary team members to provide an exceptional dining experience for residents.

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the dietary department.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, assisted living, or long-term care setting.

• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience preparing meals for seniors or individuals with specialized dietary needs.

• Experience with menu planning and inventory management.

• ServSafe Certification (preferred).

• Excellent cooking skills with strong attention to detail.

• Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
