Robert Half is looking for an Accounting Manager for a locally headquartred company. This role will guide financial reporting, close activities, and compliance efforts while helping the organization strengthen accuracy, controls, and efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to turn financial data into meaningful business insight.

Responsibilities:

• Direct daily priorities for the accounting team, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and support across close and reporting activities.

• Oversee the month-end accounting cycle, ensuring entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules are completed accurately and on time.

• Review financial results such as gross profit, income statement activity, and sales trends to deliver analysis that supports leadership decision-making.

• Prepare and issue periodic financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with internal standards and applicable accounting guidance.

• Coordinate year-end schedules, audit support materials, and tax workpapers to facilitate external reporting and compliance requirements.

• Manage motor fuel tax reporting and related filings, ensuring submissions are complete, accurate, and submitted within required deadlines.

• Monitor account reconciliations across the ledger, resolve variances promptly, and maintain strong documentation for audit readiness.

• Lead improvements to accounting processes and oversee system-related projects, including upgrades, user support, training, and workflow enhancements.

• Ensure revenue, expenses, and labor costs are assigned appropriately across departments to support accurate operational reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA preferred

• Demonstrated experience leading accounting operations, preferably in a supervisory or management capacity.

• Strong background in month-end close, general ledger oversight, account reconciliations, and journal entry review.

• Experience preparing financial statements and analyzing results to support business and operational decisions.

• Knowledge of tax compliance and regulatory reporting, including experience with filings that require detailed supporting documentation.
