Electrician Trainee

As a premier electrical contractor in the Sacramento area, we work on a wide array of projects, including commercial builds, large multi‑family complexes, solar fields, and light industrial projects. We are currently seeking Journey‑level electricians that hold an ET card, with at least five years of experience on commercial projects and in underground and site lighting electrical work. Immediate start and pay negotiable. Prevailing wage opportunities are available. Qualifications and Essential Duties Hold a valid State Electrician license and/or Electrical Trainee Card. At least five years of experience performing underground work and running PVC. Assist with the installation, repair, maintenance and testing of commercial, industrial and residential electrical systems following all safety and electrical code regulations and policies. Under supervision, use hand and power tools on a regular basis. Work from all types of ladders (step ladders up to 14’, "A"‑frame ladders, all‑size extension ladders) and be able to carry and relocate a 12‑ft step ladder by yourself. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses at all times), respirator when required. Work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week with overtime and night shifts as required. Must be able to commute up to two hours from home. Assist with measuring, cutting, bending, threading and installing wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other raceway systems. Assist with wires and cables within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, transducers, switchgear, receptacles, switches, etc. Work with an Electrician to splice and terminate wires at junction points. Clean, gather and transport materials to electricians on the construction site. Communicate effectively with foremen and crew members. Dig in trenches. Maintain workflow schedule to ensure all productivity objectives are met. Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers and vendors. Physical Demands / Requirements Includes climbing ladders and steep stairs, crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, routinely lifting heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds and pulling and pushing objects. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers and heavy physical work are more than 70% of the job. Employees may be exposed to severe or extreme weather conditions—including cold, heat, snow, rain, etc. Employment is contingent upon the individual remaining enrolled in an approved Apprentice/Trainee program.
