Manufacturing Engineer II

Job DescriptionAlbany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.The Manufacturing Engineer designs and plans layout for such activities as machining/composite materials layout and assembly. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Plans for the arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. Plans sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.Primary Responsibilities: Works under only general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutionsWork is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectivesComplete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the fieldGeneral knowledge of other related disciplinesProvides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problemsSolutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectivesContributes to the completion of specific programs and projectsFrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contactsRepresents the organization in providing solutions to technical issues associated with specific projectsJob RequirementsPreferred Education/Additional Skills:BS in designated Engineering or related field or equivalent years of experienceDMAIC, DFSS, LEAN, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Mistake Proofing, DOE, DFxRoot Cause and Corrective Action / Nonconformance Disposition (MRB)Production and Assembly Environment (Composite Lay Up, Cure, Paint, and NDI)Machine shop environment (Composite Machining) as a manufacturing engineerNew Product Development / New Business DevelopmentShop Planning Generation (MS Word Products, etc)Working in/Leading a multi—disciplined teamGD&TCATIA V5Green Belt Certified a plusExperience in Windchill, and SAP a plusAerospace manufacturing a plus--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As a Department of Defense Contractor, we are required to hire US Persons.Visa sponsorship is not being offered.Job DetailsJob Type: Full TimeSalaried: Salaried
