• Base Salary for PRODUCTION MANAGER is: $95k - $140k
• Salary based on relevant experience, strengths and requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage mill operations teams, fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence, employee engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee daily mill production activities, including pulp preparation, paper machine operations, utilities, and support processes to ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer requirements are achieved.
• Drive operational performance through effective production planning, resource allocation, process optimization, and collaboration across maintenance, reliability, quality, and engineering functions.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the mill.
• Monitor key operating parameters and production metrics to maximize equipment efficiency, product quality, fiber yield, and overall mill performance.
• Partner with maintenance and reliability teams to improve equipment uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and support long-term asset reliability strategies.
• Monitor and control operating costs, including labor, raw materials, energy consumption, and maintenance expenditures, while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Prepare and present regular reports on mill performance, including production, safety, quality, reliability, environmental compliance, and financial KPIs to senior leadership.
• Develop, coach, and mentor team members to build organizational capability, strengthen leadership succession, and support employee growth.
• Lead strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts by utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies to improve productivity, quality, and overall mill performance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Pulp & Paper Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Management, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a paper mill, pulp mill, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven servant leadership approach with experience developing high-performing teams and driving a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
• Strong understanding of mill operations, including paper machine processes, utilities, maintenance, reliability, quality systems, and environmental compliance.
• Proficiency with SAP/ERP systems, production planning, performance metrics, and cost management; pulp and paper manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
