OVERVIEW of Collegiate Edu-Nation

Collegiate Edu-Nation (CEN) is a technical assistance provider that partners with rural school districts, communities, and business leaders to strengthen student outcomes and regional workforce development. CEN connects partner districts with training, resources, professional learning, statewide networks, and continuous improvement support to develop regionally relevant P-20 education systems. Its work advances affordable postsecondary access, educational attainment, educator development, and college and career readiness across rural Texas.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

A CEN School Impact Coach provides coaching and technical assistance to district and campus leaders across rural Texas. The role supports implementation of Career-Connected Learning (CCL) and Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH), the first two focus areas of the CEN Pathway to Success model. Working with district administrators, superintendents, campus leaders, and external partners, the coach helps districts strengthen college and career readiness systems, meet CEN and TEA expectations, and advance along the proficiency continuum from Developing to Role Model status. The role builds local capacity and expands students' access to postsecondary education and high-demand careers through targeted coaching, data analysis, and implementation support.

This is a fully remote position that requires travel to CEN partner districts across the state of Texas (50–60% of the time).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience :

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
• Experience with experiential learning, Project-Based Learning (PBL), Student-Directed Research (SDR), and blended learning environments preferred.
• Experience teaching or serving in an instructional or administrative role in a Texas public school required.
• Experience in rural school districts and rural education transformation is a plus.
• Experience with P-TECH, CTE, dual credit, work-based learning, or college and career readiness strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with Texas college readiness requirements and assessments, including TSIA, SAT, and ACT, as well as CCMR indicators.
• Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of automobile liability insurance meeting applicable state requirements are required to fulfill the position's travel responsibilities.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and any additional screening required for access to partner school districts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Core responsibilities are organized around the first two focus areas of the CEN Pathway to Success framework:

1. Focus Area Implementation: Career-Connected Learning (CCL )

Guide districts in embedding a systemwide, vertically aligned CCL culture and instructional model across all grade levels (P-12):

• Career-Connected Culture & Scope: Assist campuses in weaving career awareness (Elementary/Investigations), career exploration (Middle School/Exploration), and real-world experiences (High School/Experience) into core instruction and daily culture.
• Work-Based Learning (WBL) Continuum: Support the design and implementation of developmentally appropriate WBL experiences (facility tours, job shadowing, internships, industry projects) and WBL tracking systems aligned with academic content and durable skills.
• Instructional Integration (SDR & PBL): Coach teachers in integrating Student-Directed Research (SDR), Project-Based Learning (PBL), and the engineering design process into core curricula, preparing students to present findings to authentic external audiences.
• Place-Based Learning & Partnerships: Facilitate community engagement and partnerships with local organizations to connect student research and learning to local workforce needs.
• Data-Driven Decision Making & CCR Systems: Guide school teams in leveraging academic and workforce data to refine CCL systems, monitor CCMR goals, build structured mentoring opportunities, and implement robust advising and college readiness supports (TSIA, SAT/ACT, FAFSA).

2. Focus Area Implementation: P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School )

Provide comprehensive coaching and technical assistance to rural school leaders and campus teams launching, operating, or expanding P-TECH programs within the P-20 model:

• P-TECH Designation & Compliance: Support districts with Texas Education Agency (TEA) College and Career Readiness School Models (CCRSM) applications, designation requirements, required artifacts, crosswalks, MOUs, annual documentation, and continuous monitoring.
• Program Design & Partnership Development: Assist leadership in establishing strategic partnerships with higher education institutions and industry partners to align pathways with high-demand regional careers and satisfy TEA P-TECH designation standards.
• Work-Based Learning & CTE Integration: Support the execution of structured WBL continua and alignment of applicable CTE programs of study with the district's P-TECH pathways and designation requirements.
• Academic & Student Supports (TSI Readiness): Help campuses establish targeted TSI readiness strategies, dual credit pathways, tutoring structures, master scheduling alignment, and intervention protocols that support equitable access to associate degrees and industry certifications for all students.
• Year 13–14 & Postsecondary Support: Support systems and degree completion plans that promote seamless student transitions to postsecondary education, bachelor's degree programs, apprenticeships, or direct high-demand workforce entry.
• Evaluation, Sustainability & Culture of Innovation: Support data-driven evaluation systems aligned with P-TECH rubric benchmarks and CCMR Outcomes Bonus requirements; foster campus-wide cultures of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• P-TECH Mentoring Systems: Assist in building structured, multi-level mentoring programs involving educators, peers, and industry professionals to guide students toward academic and career benchmarks.

3. General Instructional Coaching & Technical Assistance

• High-Cognition Instruction: Demonstrate deep knowledge of research-based instructional strategies that engage all students in academically rigorous, cognitively demanding learning environments.
• Classroom Walk-Throughs & Monitoring: Conduct classroom walk-throughs, learning walks, and leadership coaching visits alongside campus leaders to assess instruction, evaluate CEN Model fidelity, and track rubric progress.
• Data-Informed Instruction: Support campus instructional leaders in analyzing assessment data (including NWEA MAP, TSIA, and district CBAs) to drive targeted instructional adjustments and interventions.
• Professional Development & Modeling: Model high-leverage instructional strategies and provide individualized or group professional development tailored to campus and district needs.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Develop professional, collaborative relationships with stakeholders and appropriately safeguard confidential information.
• Continuous Learning: Participate in CEN professional learning opportunities, workshops, and conferences to maintain deep expertise in the CEN Pathway to Success framework and emerging educational best practices.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of district visits, artifact creation, progress monitoring reports, and rubric ratings.

4. Program Operations & District Project Management

• Project & Deliverable Management: Manage assigned district projects, timelines, action plans, and implementation deliverables across multiple CEN initiatives.
• Compliance, Artifacts & CTE Support: Provide technical assistance on TEA compliance, grant requirements, and CTE programs of study; guide districts in producing required artifacts (crosswalks, MOUs, program trackers, and partnership agreements).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
• Requires in-state travel (up to 50% of the time), including occasional overnight stays.
• Maintain a functional home office for remote work responsibilities.
• Occasionally requires moving, lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing materials or training supplies weighing up to 25 pounds.
