Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health / Psychiatric Unit

Location: Vallejo, CA
Facility: Adventist Health Vallejo (61-bed Behavioral Health Hospital)

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting. The RN will assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, supervise nursing staff, and ensure safe, patient-centered care for children, adolescents, and adults receiving psychiatric treatment.

Schedule

• Varies (facility-specific)
• May include weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN License
• BLS/CPR Certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Current AHA BLS or ARC BLS
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient care skills

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
• Previous acute care hospital experience
• Behavioral health/psychiatric nursing experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely.
• Monitor patient progress and document accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment and discharge planning.
• Supervise and delegate duties to nursing support staff.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care.
• Follow all hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.
