Engineering Technician III

Job Overview:


The Engineering Technician III will work within a plastics mold shop, supporting prototype, development, and production tooling projects. The role involves hands-on fabrication work using materials such as fiberglass, wood, and metal, along with reading engineering drawings and building molds, fixtures, and tooling to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate prototype, development, and production-grade molds, tooling, fixtures, and jigs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and prints to accurately build parts and molds.
• Perform hands-on woodworking, metalworking, welding, and/or fiberglass laminating.
• Support the fabrication of gelcoat molds, thermoforming molds, fiberglass fixtures, and production jigs.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively with the Plastics Mold Shop and New Product Development teams.
• Maintain quality and accuracy while completing fabrication projects.

Required / Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of fabrication shop or similar hands-on experience, OR a 2-year engineering-related Associate degree.
• Experience with at least two of the following is preferred:
• Woodworking
• Metalworking/Welding
• Fiberglass laminating
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication, tooling, molds, fixtures, or similar manufacturing work is highly preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in an onsite manufacturing/shop environment.
