Accounting / HR Associate

We are searching for a highly organized, detail-oriented Accounting / HR Associate to join our team. This is a supportive, hands-on, diverse role that blends human resources, administrative and accounting functions. The ideal candidate has a foundation and experience in general ledger accounting and Human Resources, is knowledgeable of truck fleets, possesses exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, can work independently, and is flexible to handle last-minute tasks.

Responsibilities include:

Human Resources –

· Manage employee and independent contractors on-boarding and records

· Request Pre-employment, post-accident & random drug screening

· Payroll processing

· Assist employees with benefit questions and retirement enrollments

Administrative –

· Vehicle registration renewals

· Maintain internal rosters and lists using excel

· Monitor expirations of employee and independent contractor credentials

· Prepare & manage Independent contractor’s leases

· Support upper management with correspondence & other tasks

Accounting -

· GL coding of drug screening & DOT compliance invoices

· Prepare general ledger entries

· Prepare government reports

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations

Qualifications:

· 2-5 years experience in a Human Resources role with payroll processing experience

· Minimum 2 years general ledger accounting experience

· Experience in the transportation industry a plus

· Proficiency with Microsoft excel spreadsheets and Adobe Acrobat

· Well organized, resourceful, and timely

· Discretion and confidentiality a must

· Courteous, professional manner with all levels within the organization

· Computer literacy, excellent communication skills

· Positive Can-do attitude
