Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days or Nights | 4×12-Hour Shifts

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday, as needed

Job Description & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for an Adult Emergency Department travel contract at Rochester General Hospital.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Performing triage, patient assessments, and emergency interventions.
• Managing critical patients, including stroke/CVA, neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, and orthopedic trauma.
• Administering blood products, IV medications, vasopressors, and maintaining central lines.
• Managing IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Providing respiratory support, including CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management.
• Monitoring cardiac rhythms, interpreting dysrhythmias, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs.
• Following isolation precautions, emergency protocols, and patient safety standards.
• Floating within the nurse's skill set as required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience.
• Active New York State RN license required at submission; pending licenses are not accepted.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory.
• Emergency Department experience with strong adult acute-care clinical skills.
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility.
• First-time travelers are welcome.

Preferred Certification: TNCC, PALS
Preferred Skills: Arterial line management, hypothermia protocol, STEMI/stroke-certified facility experience, and trauma care.

Additional Information

• Floating within the candidate's skill set is required.
• One time-off request may be considered; all requests must be submitted with the profile.
• Up to three shifts may be canceled by the facility during the 13-week contract.
• Orientation: 24 hours.
• Scrub Color: Navy blue and white.
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required per facility guidelines.
