About the Role
Our client is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build upon their experience in reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities within the mortgage banking industry.
Monitor and manage the accounting department inbox
Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations
Prepare and post journal entries
Assist with month-end close activities (5-day monthly close; approximately 9-day quarterly close)
Escalate non-routine accounting issues to appropriate team members
Support the Senior Accountant with ad hoc projects and reporting requests
Utilize accounting and reporting tools including:
Fiserv Prologue (ERP)
Encompass (Loan Operating System)
Excel
Power BI
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1-3 years of accounting experience
Hands-on experience with:
Bank reconciliations
Account reconciliations
Journal entries
Strong Excel skills, including:
Pivot Tables
VLOOKUPs
Mortgage industry experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Power BI
