About the Team Strategic importance to Pinterest Distributed ownership Complexity Critical technical area or platform We are seeking a dedicated, centralized Senior Technical Program Manager to establish and own our AI Compliance program, with a primary focus on GenAI risk mitigation. This specialized, high‑impact role will bridge technical innovation, business strategy, and global regulatory requirements, ensuring our GenAI initiatives are both cutting‑edge and compliant. What You’ll Do Establish, own, and continually iterate on the holistic AI Governance and Risk Management Framework for the company, integrating it across all relevant engineering and product teams. Partner closely with Legal to translate emerging global AI regulations into concrete engineering requirements, compliance plans, and a unified roadmap. Establish and improve risk management systems, including developing internal policies for responsible AI practices, defining AI safety principles, establishing metrics that ensure effective compliance, and improving Pinterest’s ability to mitigate risks of AI development through internal platforms and infrastructure. Act as the central compliance TPM lead, facilitating and driving consensus across Legal, Security, Privacy, Data Engineering, and Product teams to mitigate distributed AI risks. Incorporate AI compliance program status into leadership risk management reporting and establish tracking and review processes for GenAI features and open‑source model usage. Use AI to turn ambiguous, cross‑functional inputs into crisp execution artifacts (charters, milestones, DRIs, launch readiness checklists, decision documents, executive‑ready status) to keep the AI Risk Management portfolio moving fast while maintaining quality and compliance. What We’re Looking For Experience using AI tools to improve TPM throughput and clarity at scale (multi‑team programs, many stakeholders), including dependency/risk identification, structured trade‑off framing, and high‑signal stakeholder communications. Demonstrates judgment using AI in high‑stakes and fast‑moving environments where outputs must be verified, and can influence partners to adopt repeatable, AI‑enabled mechanisms (templates, playbooks, process hygiene) and tie AI workflows to business outcomes/ROI. 8+ years of experience as a technical program manager supporting Compliance or Trust & Safety Programs, or related experience. Entrepreneurial spirit with strong leadership, able to develop and lead a new initiative from the ground up and thrive in ambiguity. Passion for execution and getting things done. Solid technical background and ability to quickly understand technical designs, challenges, and risks; experience breaking down complex problems and driving decision making. Strong analytical abilities, able to create and monitor metrics, proactively identify growth opportunities and incidents. Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort in communicating nuanced, often technical, concepts to internal stakeholders or external partners. Ability to influence teams and drive alignment among multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in creating and driving efficient processes at scale. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, computer and information technology, or equivalent experience. This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. You will need to work in the office for in‑person collaboration once every six months and can be situated anywhere in the country. The base salary range for this position is $145,747—$300,067 USD, and the position is also eligible for equity.
