Human Resources Generalist

Performs professional level human resources work and may carry out responsibilities in one or more functional areas, such as, staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, employment, labor relations, safety, affirmative action and employment equity programs, and personnel research. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Advise employee and management personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs, procedures. Assist employees with benefit questions, changes, and problems; administer FMLA for employees on eligible leave. Participate proactively in all phases of the recruiting & hiring process: job requisition/posting, candidate screening/interviewing, and offer preparation including coordination of background checks/pre-employment drug screening. Conduct new employee orientation and general on-boarding activities. Carry out administrative work involving the human resources functions and maintain and oversee employee files and documentation; respond to past employment verifications and unemployment insurance inquiries. Ensure that programs are carried out in accordance with company's policies and procedures; coordinate random drug screening tests. Analyze and provide advice to supervisors and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee work problems. May make presentations to explain the purpose and goal and to seek compliance and understanding of human resources policies and may be responsible for implementing any policy revisions. May develop and propose improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of human resources and operations. Coordinate quarterly employee meetings, company events, training programs, service awards, and employee recognition. Provides other human resources services as needed. Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: General familiarity of HR laws and processes Capacity to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Effective verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills, including speaking before groups of customers or employees of organization. Capable of developing effective employee relationships. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Able to use good judgement on sensitive, confidential matters Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Self-starter and responsible. Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree or Professional Human Resources (PHR) Certification and 4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr Manpower
