Nassau Health Care Corporation is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Public Relations & Communications to lead the organization’s internal and external communications strategy. This senior-level position will serve as a key communications advisor to executive leadership and will strengthen the organization’s brand, reputation, and public image.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and execute an organization-wide communications strategy aligned with NHCC’s mission and priorities.
- Lead media and public relations efforts, including proactive media outreach and crisis response.
- Serve as a spokesperson and prepare executive leadership for media appearances.
- Develop press releases, executive speeches, op-eds, talking points, and other communications materials.
- Lead communications during public health events, regulatory matters, labor issues, litigation, and operational disruptions.
- Develop internal communications strategies to engage physicians, nurses, staff, and leadership.
- Oversee executive messaging, town halls, website content, social media, and digital communications.
- Maintain brand consistency and monitor public sentiment and organizational reputation.
We require:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in public information or a related field.
- 10 years of communications or related experience, including experience at the managerial level.
- Five years of specialized healthcare communications experience.
- Strong writing, media relations, crisis communications, and executive messaging skills.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree and senior-level communications experience within a hospital, health system, academic medical center, public hospital, or government-affiliated healthcare organization.
- Experience working in regulatory, union, and public-sector environments is highly desirable.
