Key Responsibilities Surgical Assistance: Act as a first or second assistant during major surgeries; assist with sutures, drainage tubes, and other intraoperative tasks as needed. Clinical Practice: Conduct patient histories, physical exams, and daily rounds. Patient Management: Develop holistic plans of care, order and interpret laboratory tests/x-rays, and manage pre- and post-operative preparations. Collaboration: Communicate treatment plans between attending physicians, consultants, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team. Education: Counsel patients and their families on procedures, discharge instructions, and follow‑up care. Requirements Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program. Experience: Typically 1–3 years of experience as a Physician Assistant is required, with a preference for surgical experience. However, new grads are welcome to apply. Licensure Current license as a Physician Assistant in Tennessee or the ability to obtain licensure. Board Certification by the NCCPA. Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., react quickly to emergencies, and maintain good hand‑eye coordination.
